+ some of ManiLA’s top ranking DJs (soon to be announce)
In the summer of 2005, Chris Haycock, Jamie Strong and Aloe Blacc set out to offer something different and unique to Los Angeles. We wanted to create a day that would integrate the city racially, socio-economically, and most importantly, musically. Together we imagined an event where all styles and smiles could be brought together by the force of quality music. As we celebrate our 7th Year Anniversary, we realize that the “little-idea-that-could” has morphed into something bigger — much beyond our wildest expectations. It has become a party FOR THE PEOPLE and BY THE PEOPLE featuring your favorite DJs and their favorite DJs who remain a complete mystery week in and week out. People come to Do Over for the music, the friends, the vibe and the surprises. It is more than just a party. For many, Do Over is a way of life and an outlet to celebrate originality. From May through October, black, white, brown, gay, straight, rich and poor come together each and every Sunday to DO their weekend all OVER and get down to the sounds of hip-hop, funk, house, disco, rock, jazz, reggae, latin and beyond.
The Do-Over parties have been touring the world the last year showing each city in different continents how a real party should be done!

• J. ROCC (Beat Junkies/ Stones Throw Records, Los Angeles)
One of the original turntablists, J. Rocc founded the Beat Junkies in 1992 with Melo-D and Rhettmatic, but has done just as much on his own as in a group setting. He began DJing in the mid-’80s with a California group named PSK. Soon after forming, the Beat Junkies became a seminal force in the rise of instrumental hip-hop, including core member Babu plus future stars Shortkut and D-Styles.
In addition to numerous mixtapes and his own production for Stones Throw releases, J. Rocc has been the DJ for Madlib’s live shows since the early 2000′s, was the 3rd member of Jaylib (Madlib & J Dilla) during the group’s live events, and collaborated with Madlib on Beat Konducta Vol. 5-6: A Tribute to J Dilla.
J. Rocc is currently working on a solo album for Stones Throw.
• LeFtO (Brownswood Records/ Blue Note, Belgium)
As one the most important tastemakers Europe has to offer, and affiliated with labels Brownswood, Blue Note, !K7 Records, Stones Throw and Jazzy Sport, this bearded early riser is consistently a couple steps ahead of your average early adopter. He doesn’t wait for the next thing to land on his lap, actively seeking it out – just take a peek at his playlists on Belgium’s foremost national radio station Studio Brussel which received compliments from Rough Trade Shops and Gilles Peterson.
However, don’t assume that he’s only working futuristic angles – no sir. Firmly rooted in jazz and hip hop, he sharpened his digging sensibility working at the now legendary Music Mania record store in hometown Brussels. His passion for jazz resulted in a remix album for Blue Note which was well received by the community. Lefto is forever moving forward but always has an ear in the past. Famed for his gloriously eclectic DJ sets, he switches effortlessly between hip hop, funk, breaks, neck-snapping beats, future bass, South-American influences, bruk riddims and some wild African rhythms. He’s not only a deejay and producer but also curates his own stage at the Dour Festival and his own nights in Gent in collaboration with Democrazy.
World renowned, LeFtO regularly blesses sound systems from Tokyo to Seoul and Singapore to New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles. He has been a resident deejay for Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Festivals since 2008 around the world. Camera under the arm, he is also one of the few deejays on this planet who can deejay somewhere and have a nice movie on the internet a couple hours later, with over 250 videos on YouTube and Vimeo, it’s very impressive. The travels resulted in the Worldwide Family Vol. 1 compilation on Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings with partner in crime DJ Simbad in 2011. Today, he’s been working on several projects including compilations, a series of t-shirts for 101 Apparel and more secrets. This guy goes on where others stop…
