Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Angelo Mendez has been an integral part of the West Coast underground music scene for the past decade. His contributions to the music scene spread far and wide raging from gigs across New York, London, and Japan.
As a member of the legendary Bay area crew Massive Selector (www.massiveselector.com) he was able to collaborate with artist and events such as; album release tour for King Britt (K7 Records), Wonder-Full: A Tribute to the Wonder of Stevie with DJ Spinna & Bobbito, a concert show featuring BBC Worldwide Live with Gilles Peterson, Dwele, and The Rebirth, Soled Out: A Commemoration to Sneaker Culture, Sneakerpimps: The Worlds Largest Sneaker Tour, San Francisco Int’l Asian American Film Festival’s Directions in Sound, J-Dilla Tribute featuring Stones Throw All-Stars Peanut Butter Wolf, Egon + Madlib, DJ Spinna vs. ?uestlove, among many other great events.
Angelo was also a key figure for of the highly influential Los Angeles label, Sound In Color (www.soundincolor.com). He was responsible for massive releases from J Dilla, Blu, Exile, Gas Lamp Killer, Slum Village, Spacek, Ghostface Killah, Sa-Ra, Mumbles, GB, and many more…
